SUMMARY:DOT Hazardous Materials Training for Shippers & Carriers
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Michael Needham\, CSP\, CSC\, CFPS\, CIT\, CHMP \nUnited States Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations require that employees who are involved in defined hazardous materials-related tasks be trained on general awareness\, function-specific\, and safety and security related to these assignments. Related tasks may include classifying materials\, packaging\, marking\, and labeling\, loading and unloading\, carrying\, developing shipping papers for\, or working around hazardous materials.  \nHazmat employees must be trained within 90 days of their hire (they may work under the supervision of trained employees in the interim). SUMMARY:New York State Department of Labor Mold Refresher Training Course
DESCRIPTION:This 4-hour course will provide the required refresher training for mold assessors\, mold remediation contractors\, and mold abatement workers.  According to New York State it is unlawful for any contractor to engage in mold assessment\, or to advertise or present themselves as a mold assessment contractor\, unless they have a valid mold assessment license issued by the New York State Commissioner of Labor. \nThis training program has been approved by the New York State Department of Labor as it meets the requirements for mold refresher training\, including the specifications required to renew a mold assessor\, mold remediation contractor\, and mold abatement worker license.  Upon successful completion of the course\, participants will receive a certification of completion\, which is necessary to apply for the renewal of your license.  Full attendance of the course is required to receive a certificate of completion. \nTraining topics include an introduction to indoor air quality\, the health effects of mold\, regulations & guidelines\, safe work practices\, and state of the art work practices in mold remediation. DESCRIPTION:The Dignity for All Students Act is a state law intended to create a learning environment free of bullying\, harassment\, and  discrimination for ALL students. This is not an easy task. Implementation requires policies and procedures as well as intentional actions to create a safe and supportive school climate where all students know they are valued members of the school community. An integral component of successful implementation is a knowledgeable\, empowered\, and empathetic Dignity Act Coordinator. This session will provide information to Dignity Act Coordinators on the technical requirements of Dignity Act implementation as well as the adaptive skills essential for receiving and responding to incident reports. Misconceptions surrounding School Safety and the Educational Climate (SSEC) reporting will be addressed to ensure attendees are equipped to support questions around reporting.
