FBI Albany 764 and Nihilistic Violent Extremism Presentation
June 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreePresented by FBI Albany Joint Terrorism Task Force in collaboration with Needham Risk Management Resource Group
Online networks linked to 764 and similar communities represent a growing concern for youth safety. These decentralized online groups promote nihilistic violent extremism (NVE) and often target minors. Victims are typically between the ages of 10 and 17 years old, and include vulnerable populations, such as those who struggle with mental health issues. These violent actors operate through gaming platforms, chat servers, and social media, manipulating their victims and coercing them into engaging in escalating harmful behavior designed to shame and isolate them.
